This opportunity offers firsthand exposure to the powerful intersection of business, federal public policy, U.S. politics, and corporate reputation management. It also provides the opportunity for hands-on, meaningful work, primarily through advocacy with policymakers, developing and implementing strategy on behalf of clients, conducting research for ongoing projects, and handling client deliverables. The Vice President will work directly with the firm’s Managing Partner, and with the broader team, in an inclusive, collegial, and collaborative work environment. THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY-LEVEL POSITION.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement advocacy strategies on behalf of clients
- Register to lobby and engage with Congress, the Administration, regulatory agencies, and state-level entities
- Maintain a broad network of relationships with policymakers, media sources, trade groups, think tanks, and other relevant stakeholders
- Serve as a subject matter expert on public policy matters affecting the firm’s clients
- Draft and edit client deliverables, including regulatory comment letters, issue advocacy one-pagers, response to RFIs, etc.
- Work collaboratively with team members to deliver timely and superior work product
- Participate in, source, and help lead business development pitches
- Proactively monitor industry and client news coverage, current events, regulatory and legislative developments, and, as appropriate, flag relevant items for external clients and internal client-servicing teams
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Strong familiarity with financial services and/or technology and regulatory policy
- Deep relationships with Congress, the Executive branch, and/or regulatory agencies
- Superior research, writing, and oral presentation skills
- Excellent personal, political, analytical, and communication skills and attention to detail
- Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
- Strong time and priority management skills and an ability to effectively handle multiple projects
- Ability to operate with the highest level of integrity
- Possess a service-oriented and diplomatic demeanor and work with the utmost discretion
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant policy experience in financial services or technology with Congress, a regulatory agency, law firm, or trade group
- Demonstrated interest in finance, technology, political science, economics, or public policy
- College degree required; J.D., MBA, or MPA/P preferred
Location & Compensation
- Compensation is competitive; final compensation package is based on a candidate’s experience and skillset
- Hybrid with 2 days per week in office in Washington, DC; this position may operate fully remotely with prior permission from firm’s Managing Partners
- This role may occasionally require work outside of normal working hours, including evenings and weekends
